Q:
Do you offer a supply only service?
A:
Yes. You can purchase glass from our online shop or you can contact us for made to measure & bespoke pieces. For glass splashbacks where shapes or cut outs in the glass
are required, you will need to provide us with a template to be able to process the glass. If you are planning to
do this, please read our D.I.Y glass splashback fitting guide first.
Q:
What is the price of glass?
A: All of our glass is priced per square meter with additional costs for cutouts for power sockets,
shapes, drilled holes etc. Extra charges would be for the addition of special colours, images or sparkles.
Q: How much does delivery cost?
A: Local delivery is free of charge (within a 10 mile radius). After 10
miles, the delivery charge is calculated at £1.20 per mile. Glass which is sent via courier will depend on the
size & weight of the glass. Our P&P charges vary from £4.99 - £29.99 (per consignment). Please
contact us for delivery calculation.
Q: How do I get a quotation?
A: You
can call us on 07507 842579, email us at info@splashingcolours.co.uk or you can fill out our contact form for a quotation which we will endeavor to supply you with 24 hours. Q: Can I fit the glass myself?
A:
For standard four sided glass - fitting it is quite easy, but your
measurements do have to be accurate! Anything more complicated such as irregular shapes, cutouts etc. we would advise you
would have to be extremely competent at D.I.Y. The hardest part is the measuring and templating process. This has to
be very accurate as any submitted measurements would be entirely at your own risk and you must remember that glass cannot
be altered once it has been toughened. If you are in any doubt whatsoever, we strongly recommend that you take advantage of
our full template & glass installation service. If you do decide to install the glass yourself, take a look at our
D.I.Y glass splashback installation guide which we hope you will find informative. Q: Is the glass safe?
A:
Yes. All glass (excluding mirrors) is processed toughened safety glass to BS 6206. Mirrors are not toughened but they do have a special safety-backing film applied on
the reverse side of the mirror. The special 'sticky' film will keep all the glass attached together on impact, which
means that no splinters or shards of glass will fall should a breakage occur. For more information on toughened glass, please
look at our 'What is toughened glass' page.
Q:
Are glass splashbacks heat resistant?
A: Yes. The glass and special coating applied
on the reverse are heat resistant and will not crack behind the hob.
Q:
How long will it be before I get my glass?
A:
Orders that are placed online and for pieces that do not need our templating & fitting service,
we aim to have your product with you in 10 days. If you require our templating & full glass installation service generally
15 working days. Once we receive your order, we will give you a call within 24 hours to give you an accurate delivery time.
Q: Can you
cut shapes, holes and internal cutouts in glass?
A:
Yes. All of our glass can be fully
processed to accomodate cutouts, holes drilled, 'T' & 'L' shapes etc. Our glass is processed
using state of the art CNC technology which can cut glass to any template provided. The only thing that cannot be cut is a
complete 90 degree right angle, the corner of the right angle will have a maximum radius of 15mm. Please bare this in
mind when making a 'T' or 'L' shaped template allowing enough tolerance for this.
